Today I finished my presentation finally. I was quite nervous during it because I had less experience with presentation, but I think I had a good job. That was quite a special experience, so I would like to write it down!
At first, it was difficult for me to find a theme of my presentation because there were lots of excellent animation in my country with various kinds.
Finally, I chose to talked about Chinese ink animation and my teacher Chenfa Lu. The reason was:1. My teacher in my university was retired from Shanghai Animation Film Studio and he was one of the animators for famous Chinese ink animation<SHANSHUIQING>; 2. I thought it was quite a interesting history to find out because less people talked about it before.
At first, it was not that easy because it was hard to find related essay. Even though I found a couple of articles that I could make use of, but there was still some important information I lacked of, especially the information of my teacher. So I directly got in contact with my teacher and collected lots of useful information for my presentation.
As I finished the PPT of my presentation, I felt both happy and grieved. The fantastic part of ink animation was a kind of feeling behind Chinese traditional culture. One way to know about how beautiful of ink animation was to keep watching it again and again, but less people are interested in it. Without market, all of those good animator gave up ink animation production, which was a really sad thing.
It is hard to predict the future of traditional ink animation. Actually ink animation exists in a lot of animation today, but they only used it as a symbol. For example, they use the ink effect to create animation, but less animation truly express the spirit of ink animation. Maybe in the future more and more audience can understand the beauty of traditional ink animation and then Chinese ink animation can be popular again.
